Juneberries

Juneberry plant

As a native plant in North Dakota, there are high hopes for juneberry production. Juneberries compare favorably in nutrient and immune system boosting power to bluberries and acai berry.

In 2012, over 300 juneberry plants were planted at the WREC. After the first winter and disease-prevalent spring, 243 plants survived. This study will use the surviving plants to assess winter hardiness, disease resistance, berry size and shrub size.
