Archery teams from Ramsey, Richland, Morton, Rolette and McIntosh counties won first-place honors in the 4-H Indoor Archery State Championship Match held recently in Edgeley.

The state indoor championship match was the final match in a circuit with four previous district matches held throughout the winter in Bismarck, Cando, Minot and West Fargo.

The district matches were conducted as 300 Vegas events with the top score of 300 points for freestyle seniors and an amended match of 150 points for other archers. Youth were required to compete in at least two of the district matches to be eligible to participate in the state indoor championship. The top two scores of each archer from the district matches were added to the score from the state indoor championship to determine team and individual awards.

The top individual score belonged to Jacob Ellingson from Morton County, with a cumulative score of 895. Ellingson achieved a perfect 300 score in the Northeast District match in Cando.
