4-H Receives Shopper Support
This fall’s Paper Clover Campaign raised $2,570 for the 4-H program in North Dakota.
Shoppers were able to buy paper clovers for $1 each at seven Tractor Supply Co. (TSC) stores in the state.
The campaign was part of a nationwide fundraiser that benefits 4-H programming in communities with a TSC store.
The TSC in Williston won the District Champion Award for selling the most clovers - 1,916. The Williston and Minot TSC stores won the Class Champion Award for meeting company campaign goals. The Minot store sold the next highest number of paper clovers – 887.
Stores in Bismarck, Devils Lake, Grand Forks, Harvey and Jamestown also took part in the fundraising effort.
The campaign in North Dakota raised a total of $3,670. Sixty-five percent of the money raised in each store will go to 4-H programming in the county where the store is located, 5 percent goes to the state 4-H program and the rest goes to the national 4-H program.
Money raised through this campaign will support local camps, after-school programs and other youth development activities.
“On behalf of the North Dakota 4-H program, I thank all of the citizens in the state of North Dakota who purchased paper clovers and so generously supported 4-H programing in our counties, state and nation,” says Cheryl Kuhn, executive director of the North Dakota 4-H Foundation. “Purchasing a paper clover enables thousands of our North Dakota youth to participate in 4-H and become part of a program that teaches youth to do the right thing, break through obstacles and make a measurable difference in our local communities.”
