Sheyenne River State Forest

The 509-acre Sheyenne River State Forest is located 1 mile south east of Fort Ransom, ND along the Sheyenne River National Scenic Byway. The state forest is bisected by 4 miles of the North Country National Scenic Trail. The forest offers spectacular views of the Sheyenne River Valley and boasts the state's only waterfall and a mineral spring. Common trees found in the forest include bur oak, quaking aspen, basswood, ironwood, and green ash.
