NDSU Greenhouse Space Request Form

To request greenhouse space please complete the form below.  The greenhouse committee will review your request and contact you.

Space not used efficiently or kept in an orderly manner will result in loss of space and not being eligible for space the following cycle.

 

Project Information
Cycle # Request   For projects longer than one cycle, a new greenhouse space request form will need to be submitted for each cycle. If a project cannot be paused between cycles, a petition needs to be submitted to the greenhouse manager at least 30 days before the end of the cycle. The greenhouse committee will review petitions and their determination will be communicated with you through the greenhouse manager.

Required Permits/Approvals   If you are generating and/or using transgenic plants or pathogens, created using CRISPR or other genome editing technology, you are required to submit an IBC protocol prior to beginning the project. This includes growing transgenic plants at NDSU that were created at another institution or facility. If you are not sure if approval or permits are required, please contact the Greenhouse Manager at 701-231-5577 or the IBC Administrator at 701-231-8908.
Field Soil   Unautoclaved field soil in not allowed to enter the Dalrymple Greenhouse. Please email greenhouse staff with your needs for these types of experiments. Priority consideration will be given for these experiments in the USDA NCSL and Waldron Greenhouse facilities.


Estimate of Space Needed If you elect not to use the benches, you will be billed for the square footage of the compartment. An estimate sheet is available for the number of pots that each bench will hold.
Could This Experiment be Conducted in a Growth Chamber?   If the plants are not grown to maturity, please consider utilizing a large walk in growth room for your experiment. Please contact greenhouse staff for more information about the grow rooms and growth chambers available.


Pest Control (Insecticide Application, Pest Scouting, Beneficial Nematode Application) All chemical applications in the greenhouse will be conducted by greenhouse staff. Yellow and blue pest strips will be placed in each greenhouse room to help monitor insect outbreaks.
