2018 Bioindustry Summit Set at NDSU

The summit will focus on efficiency gains in corn ethanol production, soybean oil-based biodiesel and updates on federal biofuel policy and trade.

Agriculture, technology and industry interests will converge on May 15 during the 2018 Bioindustry Summit on the campus of North Dakota State University in Fargo.

Topics will include efficiency gains in corn ethanol production, soybean oil-based biodiesel and market development, both domestic and international, as well as updates from Washington D.C. on federal biofuel policy and trade.

“The corn-ethanol and biodiesel industries have matured over the past decade becoming ever more efficient and sustainable” says David Ripplinger, NDSU assistant professor, bioenergy specialist and Director of NDSU’s Bio Energy and Product Innovation Center (BioEPIC). “Further development of domestic and international markets for these biofuels and their co-products is important for their continued growth.”

Bioindustry Summit speakers are:

  • Erik Lutt, Director, Policy, Industrial and Environmental Biotechnology Innovation Organization
  • Kelsey Erickson, Manager, Quality Assurance, Renewable Energy Group
  • Ryan Thorpe, Chief Operating Officer, Tharaldson Ethanol
  • Jeff Zueger, Chief Executive Officer, Midwest AgEnergy Group

The summit will open with registration at 8:30 a.m. on May 15. Registration is $75 for full registration, $50 for North Dakota University System faculty and staff, and free for students.
