NDSU Equestrian Team Enjoys Successful Year

Eight members of NDSU’s Western equestrian team advance to postseason regional competition.

Eight members of North Dakota State University’s Western equestrian team will advance to postseason regional competition at the University of Minnesota-Crookston on March 7.

The 20-mermber team ended its regular season of 10 competitions with four high-point team awards and four reserve high-point team awards. The team also was named the overall reserve high-point team in the region, which consists of North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

“The team members worked very hard this year and their dedication paid off with a very successful season,” says coach Tara Swanson.

Members representing NDSU in the postseason competition are juniors Alyssa Jorgenson, West Fargo; Amanda Grev, Rochester, Minn.; Janelle Lanoue, Alexandria, Minn.; Jenna Benjaminson, Walhalla; Shannon Voges, Courtland, Minn.; and Sara Holman, Glyndon, Minn.; and freshmen Megan Mueller, Hillsboro; and Juliann Zach, Rosholt, S.D.

Other members of the 2009-10 team are:

  • Juniors: Catie Vieths, Hastings, Minn.; Christina Bergman, Langdon; and Kelly O’Connell, Green Bay, Wis.
  • Sophomores: Emily Coleman, Bismarck; Jackie Eldredge, Casselton; and Lauren Tollefson, Beltrami, Minn.
  • Freshmen: Hannah Wall, Big Lake, Minn.; Anna Kampa, Maple Grove, Minn.; Brandi Houghton, Fargo; Citty Cole, Granite Falls, Minn.; Codie Miller, Prior Lake, Minn.; and Hannah Beyer, Rapid City, S.D.
