4-H Foundation Board Elects Officers, Members

The North Dakota 4-H Foundation board of directors recently elected new officers and members.

Jerry Iverson, Binford, is the new chair of the North Dakota 4-H Foundation board of directors.

Sandy Clark, Bismarck, is the board’s new first vice chair.

They were elected during the board’s annual meeting near Washburn earlier this month.

The board also elected new members at the meeting. They are Allison Dybing-Driessen, Devils Lake; Leann Schaefer, New Rockford; Mary Schmitt, Ray; Andy Staloch, Williston; Maureen Ming, Bismarck; and Mike Berg, Bismarck. They were elected to three-year terms.

Jean Johnson, Grand Forks, was re-elected to her second three-year term on the boad. She is the board’s third vice chair.

In addition, the board appointed Taylor McAllister, Devils Lake, as the youth representative from the North Dakota 4-H Ambassadors.

The board reappointed the following as representatives of NDSU Extension Service professional organizations:

  • Gerald Sturn - North Dakota Association of Extension 4-H Youth Workers
  • Rick Schmidt - North Dakota Association of Extension Agents
  • Samantha Roth – North Dakota Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences

The other officers are Duane Hauck, NDSU Extension Service director, second vice chair; Clarence Sitter, Fargo, fourth vice chair; and Brad Cogdill, chair of the NDSU Extension Service’s Center for 4-H Youth Development, legal secretary.

The foundation provides guidance and funds not available through the public sector to support the development of 4-H programs in North Dakota and related NDSU Extension Service 4-H activities. This includes program support; awards and incentives for program participants; training and recognition for youth, volunteer leaders and professional staff; and funds to research, develop and deliver innovative programs to meet special needs and changing situations that create challenges and opportunities for youth.
