CFRE International has recertified Tom McSparron, North Dakota 4-H Foundation development director, as a certified fundraising executive.
McSparron joins more than 5,000 professionals around the world who hold the certified fundraising executive (CFRE) designation.
Individuals granted the CFRE credential have met a series of standards CFRE International sets. Those standards include tenure in the profession, education, demonstrated fundraising achievement and a commitment to services to not-for-profit organizations.
Initially, candidates must pass a rigorous written examination testing the knowledge, skills and abilities required of a fundraising executive. They also have agreed to uphold the CFRE’s accountability standards and donor bill of rights.
“The CFRE process was developed as a way to identify for the public and employers those individuals who possess the knowledge, skills and commitment to perform fundraising duties in an effective, conscientious, ethical and professional manner,” says Andrew Day, chair of CFRE International. “Achievement of the certified fundraising executive credential demonstrates the level of commitment on the part of Mr. McSparron to himself and the profession as a whole.”
CFRE recipients are awarded certification for a three-year period.
