Velkommen, Tervetuloa, Va"lkommen or Welcome to the opening session at the Hjemkomst Center in Moorhead, Minn. Built by hand, the museum features the Hjemkomst Viking Ship, which sailed the Atlantic Ocean in 1982. The museum grounds feature a stave church, which is a Norwegian-style church that serves as a symbol of the Scandinavian heritage found in the Red River Valley. At the Hjemkomst Center, you will experience a little of the Scandinavian culture through dancing, foods and exhibits. Transportation will be provided from the Holiday Inn.
