Handbook for Graduate Students in Soil Science
3. GENERAL EXPECTATIONS OF SOIL SCIENCE GRADUATE STUDENTS
- Meet all formal requirements of Department and Graduate School.
 - Regularly attend seminars, especially those given by other Soil Science graduate students. Include seminars given by other departments as appropriate.
 - Attend all classes, provide notice beforehand if absence is anticipated, or provide explanation after if absence was not anticipated.
 - Prepare for classes and participate in discussions.
 - Observe University and Department computer use rules.
 - Notify the Soil Science main office of illness or other reason you will not be in office or field on any given day.
 - Observe regular residence hours within the Department as agreed with your major professor and according to University Policy.
 - Complete all required safety training and other training listed on the "milestones list" and follow safety and other procedures as presented in the training.
 - Required baseline training calendar:
 - Have knowledge of and adhere to generally accepted high principles of academic and research conduct as, for instance, proper acknowledgment of sources.
