Scaglia appointed interim associate director of NDSU Extension

Effective July 7, Scaglia will serve in an interim leadership role overseeing NDSU Extension agents and educators.

Guillermo Scaglia has been named interim associate director of North Dakota State University Extension.

In this interim role, Scaglia will provide statewide leadership and administration for NDSU Extension programs in agriculture and natural resources, family and community wellness, and 4-H and youth development.

Scaglia currently serves as the head of NDSU’s Department of Animal Sciences, where he has provided leadership through transition periods, led strategic planning and budget realignment efforts, strengthened undergraduate recruitment, and advanced philanthropic initiatives supporting livestock facilities and faculty endowments.

“We are excited to have Dr. Scaglia take on this important administrative role,” says Greg Lardy, Joe and Norma Peltier Vice President for Agriculture at NDSU. “His expertise and leadership skills will be valuable during this interim period.”

Prior to his appointment at NDSU, Scaglia held leadership positions at Louisiana State University, including serving as an associate program leader for agriculture and natural resources at the LSU AgCenter. His experience spans Extension, research, administration and stakeholder engagement across complex, statewide systems.

NDSU Agriculture has initiated an internal search for an interim head of the Department of Animal Sciences.
