North Dakota State University faculty and staff were recognized for their outstanding contributions in research, teaching, Extension and support services during an awards ceremony on Dec. 3.

The 35th Annual NDSU Agriculture Faculty and Staff Awards program featured award presentations by Greg Lardy, Joe and Norma Peltier Vice President for Agriculture; Carrie Hammer, associate dean in the College of Agriculture, Food Systems, and Natural Resources; Frank Casey, associate director of the North Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station; and Lynette Flage, associate director of NDSU Extension.

This year, 53 nominations were received for 11 awards. The 2025 award recipients are the following:

• Larson/Yaggie Excellence in Research Award – Samiran Banerjee, assistant professor, Department of Microbiological Sciences
• Eugene R. Dahl Excellence in Research Award – Carl Dahlen, professor, Department of Animal Sciences
• Earl and Dorothy Foster Excellence in Teaching Award – Ewumbua Monono, assistant professor, Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering
• H. Roald and Janet Lund Excellence in Teaching Award – Shawn DeKeyser, professor, School of Natural Resource Sciences
• William J. and Angelyn A. Austin Excellence in Advising Award – Barney Geddes, assistant professor and Richard and Linda Offerdahl Faculty Fellow, Department of Microbiological Sciences
• Excellence in Extension Early Career Award – Jan Stankiewicz, community health and nutrition specialist and NDSU Agriculture tribal liaison, Extension Family and Community Wellness
• AGSCO Excellence in Extension Award – Kurt Froelich, Extension agent, agriculture and natural resources, Stark-Billings County
• Charles and Linda Moses Staff Award – Susan Finneseth, grant coordinator, School of Natural Resources and Departments of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering and Microbiological Sciences
• Donald and Jo Anderson Staff Award – Linda Schuster, administrative assistant, Carrington Research Extension Center
• Rick and Jody Burgum Staff Award – Chris Anderson, print and copy services production manager, Agriculture Communication
• Access and Opportunity Award – Shannon Ueker, administrative secretary and graduate extension programs assistant, Department of Plant Sciences
