NDSU athletes to be awarded scholarships during 49th annual Harvest Bowl

Scholarships will be awarded to 14 North Dakota State University athletes during this year’s Harvest Bowl program on Nov. 10.

Scholarships will be awarded to 14 North Dakota State University athletes during this year’s Harvest Bowl program on Nov. 10.

Highlights of the event include a Harvest Bowl dinner and awards program on Nov. 10 at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Fargo, and the Harvest Bowl football game between NDSU and Southern Illinois on Nov. 11.

Harvest Bowl scholarship awardees, sport, hometown and major are:

  • LeVon Kirkeide & Friends Harvest Bowl Scholarship; Thorsrud Harvest Bowl Scholarship - Braden Brown is a junior who competes in jumps for NDSU Men’s Track and Field from Bismarck, North Dakota, majoring in Agricultural Economics. He is the son of Shannon and Paula Brown.
  • Hefty Seeds Harvest Bowl Scholarship; Gooseneck Implement/Green Iron Equipment Harvest Bowl Endowment; Bob & Darlene Yaggie Football Scholarship - Hunter Brozio is a senior fullback on the NDSU Football team from Lakeland, Florida, majoring in Animal Science. His parents are Jeff and Debbie Brozio.
  • Richard and Kelly R. Sager Harvest Bowl Endowment; NDSU Harvest Bowl Scholarship Fund - Julia Gherardi is a sophomore pole vaulter for NDSU Women’s Track and Field from Hibbing, Minnesota, majoring in Natural Resource Management. Her parents are Mandy and Paul Gherardi.
  • John & Kay Dean Harvest Bowl Scholarship; Terry Goerger Harvest Bowl Scholarship Endowment; Pamela and Brent Jenkins Harvest Bowl Scholarship - Boeden Greenley is a freshman wrestler on the NDSU Wrestling team from Lisbon, North Dakota, majoring in Crop and Weed Science. His parents are Jamie and Randall Greenley.
  • Darrell Larson Family Scholarship; Nipstad Family Athletic Scholarship Endowment - Beau Johnson is a freshman offensive tackle on the NDSU Football team from Spring Lake Park, Minnesota, majoring in General Agriculture. He is the son of Bruce and Kimberly Johnson.
  • Lauf Family Scholarship; Farmers National Foundation Harvest Bowl Scholarship; Red River Commodities Scholarship Fund - Ashley Kimman is a freshman competing in multi-events on the NDSU Women’s Track & Field team from Pierz, Minnesota, majoring in Animal Science. Her parents are Billie and Steve Kimman.
  • Terry Goerger Harvest Bowl Scholarship - Zach McGlynn is a junior competing in multi-events on the NDSU Men’s Track & Field team from Stephen, Minnesota, majoring in Agricultural Economics. His parents are Steven and Melanie McGlynn.
  • Hefty Seeds Harvest Bowl Scholarship; Titan Machinery Scholarship Endowment; #64 Bob & #58 Bruce Yaggie Father-Son Football Scholarship - Mason Miller is a senior offensive tackle on the NDSU Football team from Ada, Minnesota, majoring in General Agriculture. He is the son of Paul and Dawn Miller.
  • Hefty Seeds Harvest Bowl Scholarship; Lynden and Kathy Johnson Harvest Bowl Scholarship; Kent and Jodi Carlson Harvest Bowl Endowment - Andrew Morgan is a junior forward for the NDSU Basketball team from Waseca, Minnesota, majoring in Agribusiness. His parents are Keith and Lori Morgan.
  • Gene Dahl Scholarship Fund; Terry Goerger Women’s Athletics Harvest Bowl Scholarship - Onnica Stansbury is a junior cross-country runner for NDSU Women’s Track and Field from West Fargo, North Dakota, majoring in Animal Biomedical Science. Her parents are Justin and Tanessa Stansbury.
  • Hetle Family Harvest Bowl Scholarship; Patrick Benedict Memorial Harvest Bowl Scholarship Endowment - Ashley Stewart is a freshman thrower competing on the NDSU Women’s Track & Field team from Blaine, Minnesota, majoring in Agribusiness. Her parents are Brooke and Andy Stewart.
  • Glenn & Alice Ellingsberg Strouse Harvest Bowl Scholarship; Ron & Karen Offutt Scholarship - Jacob Streit is a senior tight end for the NDSU Football team from Watkins, Minnesota, majoring in Agribusiness. He is the son of Rich and Sue Streit.
  • NDSU Harvest Bowl Scholarship Fund; Hefty Seeds Harvest Bowl Scholarship - Joshua Streit is a junior forward for the NDSU Basketball team from Watkins, Minnesota, majoring in Agribusiness. He is the son of Rich and Sue Streit.
  • Hefty Seeds Harvest Bowl Scholarship; Scott & Ann Dau Family Scholarship; Myron & Murial Johnsrud Harvest Bowl Endowment - Grey Zabel is a senior offensive guard on the NDSU Football team from Pierre, South Dakota, majoring in Agribusiness. His parents are Mark and Tanna Zabel.

The NDSU Harvest Bowl program recognizes the success, dedication and hard work of outstanding agriculturists in 53 counties in North Dakota and 10 counties in western Minnesota.

An agribusiness award recipient is chosen annually. This award recognizes individuals who have distinguished themselves in the field of agriculture and business in North Dakota and beyond.

The 2023 NDSU Harvest Bowl Agribusiness Award recipient is Dan Wogsland, former North Dakota Senator and retired Executive Director of the North Dakota Grain Growers Association. Wogsland’s full bio is available at ndsufoundation.com/harvest-bowl/agribusiness-award.
