NDSU Extension specialists receive promotion

NDSU recognizes Extension specialists for their outreach contributions.

Seven North Dakota State University Extension specialists have been awarded promotion.

Specialists earn promotion based on the fulfillment of the specialist’s job description and their contribution to the mission of NDSU Extension and core program area (4-H youth development, agriculture and natural resources, or family and community wellness). The review process and procedures are rigorous. Specialists undergo careful scrutiny and must demonstrate to their peers and administration that they have met high standards of performance.

Extension specialists who have been promoted are:

  • Nikki Johnson, Department of Health, Nutrition, and Exercise Sciences, promoted to Extension Specialist II.
  • Tom Kalb, Department of Plant Sciences, promoted to Extension Specialist III.
  • Naeem Kalwar, NDSU Langdon Research Extension Center, promoted to Extension Specialist III.
  • Mary Keena, NDSU Carrington Research Extension Center, promoted to Extension Specialist II.
  • Jan Stankiewicz, Department of Health, Nutrition, and Exercise Sciences, promoted to Extension Specialist II.
  • Jane Strommen, Department of Human Development and Family Science, promoted to Extension Specialist II.
  • Joseph Zeleznik, School of Natural Resource Sciences, promoted to Extension Specialist III.

“These individuals are leaders in providing science-based education that empowers North Dakotans to improve their lives and communities,” says Lynette Flage, associate director of NDSU Extension.

“NDSU values the contributions these specialists have made to the outreach mission of the university,” says Greg Lardy, vice president for Agricultural Affairs.
