NDSU Agriculture awards promotion and tenure for research and teaching efforts

Faculty and staff are honored for their contributions.

North Dakota State University Agriculture announced individuals who have been awarded promotion and/or tenure for their research and teaching contributions.

Faculty and staff who have been promoted are:

  • Amanda Arens, Langdon Research Extension Center, promoted to research specialist II.
  • Venkataramana (Venkat) Chapara, Langdon Research Extension Center, promoted to associate Agricultural Experiment Station specialist.
  • Bingcan Chen, Department of Plant Sciences, promoted to associate professor with tenure.
  • Jason Harmon, School of Natural Resource Sciences – Entomology, promoted to professor.
  • Meagan Scott Hoffman, Extension Center for 4-H Youth Development, promoted to associate professor within the Department of Human Development and Family Sciences.
  • Miranda Meehan, Department of Animal Sciences, promoted to associate professor with tenure.
  • Sheela Ramamoorthy, Department of Microbiological Sciences, promoted to professor.
  • Jiajia Rao, Department of Plant Sciences, promoted to associate professor with tenure.
  • Anuradha Vegi, Department of Plant Sciences, promoted to associate professor of practice.

“These individuals are continuing our tradition of excellence in teaching, research and Extension,” says David Buchanan, associate dean of the College of Agriculture, Food Systems, and Natural Resources.

“NDSU values the contributions these individuals have made to the mission of the university,” says Greg Lardy, vice president for Agricultural Affairs.
