NDSU Athletes to be Awarded Scholarships During 47th Annual Harvest Bowl

Scholarships will be awarded to 24 North Dakota State University athletes during this year’s Harvest Bowl program on Nov. 19.
Highlights of the event include a Harvest Bowl dinner and awards program on Nov. 19 at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Fargo, and the Harvest Bowl football game between NDSU and the University of South Dakota on Nov. 20.
Harvest Bowl scholarship awardees, sport, hometown and major are:
- Patrick Benedict Memorial Harvest Bowl Scholarship Endowment - Austin Brenner is a redshirt junior wrestler on the NDSU Wrestling team from St. Cloud, Minnesota, majoring in agricultural economics. He is the son of Mark and Annie Brenner.
- Kent and Jodi Carlson Endowment- Isaac Huber is a sophomore distance runner for NDSU Men’s Cross Country and Track and Field from Jud, North Dakota, majoring in agricultural systems management. His parents are Bryan and Emmy Huber.
- Gene Dahl Scholarship - Kirstin Tidd is a senior middle blocker on the NDSU Volleyball team from Verona, Wisconsin, majoring in agricultural economics. She is the daughter of Ray and Sonja Tidd.
- Scott and Ann Dau Family Scholarship - Cordell Volson is a redshirt senior offensive tackle on the NDSU Football team from Balfour, North Dakota, majoring in agriculture science. His parents are Ralph and Wendy Volson.
- John and Kay Dean Harvest Bowl Scholarship - Jacob Rodin is a junior who competes in mid-distance for NDSU Men’s Track and Field from Kenmare, North Dakota, majoring in agricultural economics. He is the son of Lenny and Sue Rodin.
- Glenn and Alice Strouse Ellingsberg Harvest Bowl Scholarship / Hefty Seeds Harvest Bowl Scholarship - Aliya Owens is a sophomore midfielder for NDSU Soccer from Omaha, Nebraska, majoring in animal science. She is the daughter of Ernie and Amy Owens.
- Farmer’s National Harvest Bowl Scholarship - Braden Brown is a freshman who competes in jumps for NDSU Men’s Track and Field from Bismarck, North Dakota, majoring in agricultural economics. He is the son of Shannon and Paula Brown.
- Gooseneck Implement/Green Iron Equipment Harvest Bowl Scholarship - Emily Dietz is a senior forward on the NDSU Basketball team from West Fargo, North Dakota, majoring in elementary education and human development and family science. Her parents are Dave and Lori Dietz.
- Harvest Bowl Scholarship - Joshua Streit is a freshman forward for the NDSU Basketball team from Watkins, Minnesota, majoring in agribusiness. He is the son of Richard and Sue Streit.
- Harvest Bowl Scholarship in honor of Robert Johansen - Mason Miller is a sophomore offensive tackle on the NDSU Football team from Ada, Minnesota, majoring in general agriculture. He is the son of Paul and Dawn Miller.
- Hefty Seeds Harvest Bowl Scholarship - Owen Pentz is a sophomore wrestler on the NDSU Wrestling team from Croydon, Utah, majoring in animal science. His parents are Eli and Krissy Pentz.
- Hefty Seeds Harvest Bowl Scholarship - Onnica Stansbury is a freshman cross country runner for NDSU Women’s Track and Field from West Fargo, North Dakota, majoring in animal science. Her parents are Justin and Tanessa Stansbury.
- Lynden and Kathy Johnson Scholarship - Katie Pagel is a freshman defender on the NDSU Soccer team from Aurora, Colorado, majoring in natural resource management. Her parents are Michele and Shawn Pagel.
- Myron and Muriel Johnsrud HB Endowment - Jackson Hankey is a redshirt senior linebacker on the NDSU Football team from Park River, North Dakota, pursuing a Master of Business Administration - Agribusiness. His parents are Dave and Jana Hankey.
- LeVon C. Kirkeide and Friends Harvest Bowl Scholarship/Hefty Seeds Harvest Bowl Scholarship - Andrew Morgan is a freshman forward for the NDSU Basketball team from Waseca, Minnesota, majoring in agribusiness. His parents are Keith and Lori Morgan.
- Darrell Larson Family Scholarship/Hefty Seeds Harvest Bowl Scholarship - Travis Yohnke is a sophomore tight end on the NDSU Football team from Carlos, Minnesota, majoring in animal science. His parents are Chuck and Sandy Yohnke.
- Bob Lauf/Lauf Family Memorial Scholarship - Kylie Strop is a sophomore guard on the NDSU Basketball team from River Falls, Wisconsin, majoring in business marketing. Her parents are Chris Strop and Todd and Dana Strop.
- Nipstad Family Athletic Scholarship Endowment/Hefty Seeds Harvest Bowl Scholarship - Cody Mauch is a senior offensive tackle on the NDSU Football team from Hankinson, North Dakota, majoring in agricultural and biosystems engineering. His parents are Joseph and Stacey Mauch.
- Ron and Karen Offutt Scholarship - Abigail Hoffarth is a redshirt freshman cross country runner for NDSU Women’s Track and Field from Minot, North Dakota, majoring in microbiology and biotechnology. Her parents are Brad and Deb Hoffarth.
- Red River Commodities Scholarship - Boden Skunberg is a freshman on the NDSU Basketball team from Jamestown, North Dakota, majoring in biological sciences. His parents are Eric and Julie Skunberg.
- Richard and Kelly Sager Harvest Bowl Endowment - Tyler Enerson is a junior who competes in multiple events for NDSU Men’s Track and Field from Grand Forks, North Dakota, majoring in agricultural economics. His parents are Norm and Lisa Enerson.
- Titan Machinery Scholarship - Brandon Metz is a senior wrestler on the NDSU Wrestling team from West Fargo, North Dakota, pursuing a master’s in educational leadership. His parents are Chris and Maria Metz.
- #64 Bob Yaggie and #58 Bruce Yaggie Father — Son Football Scholarship - Costner Ching is a senior defensive tackle on the NDSU Football team from Castlewood, South Dakota, majoring in general agriculture. His parents are Jeff and Tamra Ching.
- Bob and Darlene Yaggie Football Scholarship/Hefty Seeds Harvest Bowl Scholarship - Spencer Waege is a senior defensive end on the NDSU Football team from South Shore, South Dakota, majoring in general agriculture. His parents are Lynne and Lana Waege.
The NDSU Harvest Bowl program recognizes the success, dedication and hard work of outstanding agriculturists in 53 counties in North Dakota and 10 counties in western Minnesota.
An agribusiness award recipient is chosen annually. This award recognizes individuals who have distinguished themselves in the field of agriculture and business in North Dakota and beyond.
Eddie Bernhardson, past Harvest Bowl chair and retired University of Minnesota Extension agent in Clay County, will receive the 2021 award.
