Gardening Tips on the Internet

NDSU experts present the latest information on a wide range of topics.

More than 700 gardeners across North Dakota have attended Spring Fever Garden forums, a new series of workshops hosted by North Dakota State University.

“The response from the public has been great,” says Tom Kalb, NDSU Extension Service horticulturist. “They are excited to listen to live presentations and have their questions answered by university experts.”

These live presentations are broadcast from NDSU to more than 40 Extension offices across the state. NDSU experts present the latest information on a wide range of topics, including how to grow trees, fruits, vegetables and flowers.

The final evening presentations are April 1 and 3 from 6:30 to 8:30 each night. All gardeners are welcome and the forums are free. For more information and to register, go to www.ag.ndsu.edu/springfever.

While many gardeners are enjoying the company of fellow gardeners at Extension offices, more than 400 gardeners have participated through the Internet on their home computers.

“Technology today makes it easy to connect with the classes in Fargo,” Kalb says. “We also are saving the presentations online for people to download later so they can watch them at their convenience.”
