Scholarship Endowment Honors Longtime NDSU Faculty Member

The scholarship endowment fund honors a retired Animal Sciences assistant professor.

North Dakota State University has established the Paul Berg Endowment Fund to honor a longtime Animal Sciences Department faculty member who retired in December 2012.

Berg was a faculty member in the department for 47 years.

Berg, an associate professor, taught undergraduate courses in animal breeding and genetics, and meats evaluation. He also coached the NDSU Meats Judging and Meat Animal Evaluation teams, and advised Animal Sciences’ Carnivore Catering graduate student organization.

Through his leadership, Carnivore Catering has served thousands of meals at university functions, alumni events and other gatherings throughout the region. The group’s meals always feature meat as the main course.

To donate to the scholarship fund, contact the department at (701) 231-7641 for a pledge card or donate online at http://www.ndsufoundation.com/. Be sure to note that your gift is for the Paul Berg Endowment Fund.

For more information about the endowment, contact Greg Lardy, Animal Sciences Department head, at (701) 231-7660 or gregory.lardy@ndsu.edu.
