N.D. 4-H Horse Judging Contest Winners Named

Ransom County’s team will represent North Dakota at the Western National 4-H Roundup.

Ransom County’s team placed first in the senior division of the North Dakota 4-H horse judging contest.

Team members are Katelyn Oland, Cassidy Rasmusson, Shelby Musland and Brittany Johnson. They are eligible to represent North Dakota at the national 4-H horse judging contest at the Western National 4-H Roundup in Denver in January 2013.

The Burleigh County team of Jordan Jacob, Melissa Mehlhoff, Morgan Heidrich and Shelby Mulske took second place. The Mountrail County team of Veronica Enander, Haley Goodal, Bobbi Hennessy, Cheyane Leidle and Wyatt Woodbury finished in third place.

Burleigh County’s team placed first in the junior division. Team members are Dillon Alvarez, Justin Hagen, Tyler Horner, Crystal Mills, Isabelle Erickson and Brianna Horner.

The Stark-Billings County team of Skylar Dockter, Madison Kadrmas, Brooke Hutzenbeler and Matteah Dworshak finished in second place. The Barnes County team of Rathyn Krueger, Breanna McDonald, Hailey Schaefer-Jewett and Jessie Undem took third place.

The contest consisted of placing three halter classes of horses, three performance classes, and oral reasons on one halter class and one performance class. The competition was held March 30-31 in Fargo.

The North Dakota 4-H Foundation sponsored the awards.
