NDSU Rider 5th in National Competition

A member of NDSU’s horse show team places fifth in national competition.

Janelle Lanoue, a member of North Dakota State University’s horse show team, finished fifth in the advanced division of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association’s national competition in Murfreesboro, Tenn.

“Janelle did a great job representing NDSU,” says Tara Swanson, NDSU’s Intercollegiate Horse Show Association coach. “Only 12 people from each division qualify for nationals, so making it to that level is a huge accomplishment.”

The competition was held at Middle Tennessee State University on April 24-26.

Lanoue, a sophomore from Alexandria, Minn., earned the trip to the national competition by placing third in semifinal competition at the University of Findlay, Findlay, Ohio, in March.
