NDSU Horse Show Team Members Advance

NDSU horse show team members advance to semifinal competition.

Five members of North Dakota State University’s horse show team placed in regional competition in River Falls, Wis., Feb. 28-March 1.

Janelle Lanoue, a sophomore from Alexandria, Minn.; Shannon Voges, a sophomore from Courtland, Minn.; and Jackie Eldredge a freshman from Casselton, took first place in their divisions.

Chelsea Sazama a freshman from Perham, Minn.; and Jordan Schultz, a freshman from Eckerty, Ind., received second places in their classes.

All five also qualified to advance to semifinal competition. They will be traveling to Findlay, Ohio, March 21-22 to compete against horse show team members from schools throughout the U.S.

“It is a huge accomplishment to make it to this level of competition,” says Tara Swanson, NDSU’s Intercollegiate Horse Show Association coach. “These team members stepped up and had excellent performances at the regional competition and should all do well at semifinals.”

If they place in the top four of their divisions at the semifinals, they will qualify for the national competition, which will be held in Murfreesboro, Tenn., on April 23-26.
