REGISTRATION IS LIMITED TO 50 PARTICIPANTS. Continuing education credits will be available for certified crop advisers (CCAs).

This field school is targeted toward crop advisers but also is beneficial for farmers. The school will provide hands-on training in crop, pest and soil management using field demonstration and research plots. 

Field sessions include:

  • Weed identification – Identify about 60 living weed exhibits, plus receive brief reviews on selected weed biology and control.
  • Herbicide site-of-action – Identify herbicide classes by examining crop and weed injury symptoms. 
  • Small grain diseases – Review identification of foliar and head diseases and management strategies. 
  • Soil management– Diagnose crop nutrient deficiencies.
Several people are inspecting weed samples.
