NDSU Bison Strides to host holiday open house

NDSU Bison Strides will host an open house focusing on volunteer appreciation.

North Dakota State University Bison Strides is hosting an open house on Sunday, Dec. 8, from 5 to 7 p.m.

The holiday open house and volunteer appreciation event will be held at the NDSU Equine Center in Fargo, North Dakota. The public is welcome to attend and learn more about the equine-assisted services program offered through the NDSU Department of Animal Sciences.

“This event is a great opportunity for interested individuals and families to talk with our staff, meet our horses and to learn about our equine programming,” says Erika Berg, Department of Animal Sciences associate professor and Bison Strides program director.

Bison Strides connects horses and people with physical, cognitive, emotional, behavioral or mental health needs to build strength, resiliency and independence. Programming includes military and veteran horsemanship, equine-assisted learning, adapted horsemanship and physical and occupational therapy in collaboration with Beyond Boundaries, a therapy and wellness clinic.

The NDSU Equine Center is located at 5140 19th Ave. N in Fargo.
