Fifteen scholarships will be awarded to outstanding North Dakota State University female and male athletes during this year’s Harvest Bowl festivities Nov. 21-22 in Fargo.
The NDSU Harvest Bowl program also recognizes the work of agriculturists in 53 counties in North Dakota and several in Minnesota.
A special agribusiness award goes to an individual who has a distinguished career in agriculture and business. This year’s award recipient is Jerry Doan, a fourth-generation rancher and producer from McKenzie.
Harvest Bowl scholarship awardees, sport, hometown and major are:
- Harvest Bowl Scholarship – Courtney Johnson, softball, Fargo, social science education
- Harvest Bowl Scholarship in honor of Robert Johansen – Tommy Petersen, wrestling, Lakeville, Minn., agricultural systems management
- Gene Dahl Scholarship – Zach Mayo, baseball, Mather, Manitoba, crop and weed sciences
- Scott and Ann Dau Family Scholarship – Austin Kuhnert, football, Sioux Falls, S.D., general agriculture
- John and Kay Dean Harvest Bowl Scholarship – Jackie Lee, volleyball, Williston, agribusiness
- Gooseneck Implement/Green Iron Equipment Harvest Bowl Scholarship – Amber Riopelle, track and field, Mandan, nursing
- Myron and Muriel Johnsrud Harvest Bowl Endowment – Andrew Bonnet, football, Council Bluffs, Iowa, finance
- LeVon Kirkeide, Patricia Kirkeide–Hagemeister and Friends Harvest Bowl Scholarship – Anthony Caputo, wrestling, Red Lake Falls, Minn., agribusiness
- Darrell Larson Family Scholarshiip – Ben LeCompte, football, Barrington, Ill., sports management
- Bob Lauf Memorial Scholarship – Cole Davis, football, Kearney, Neb., agribusiness

- Bob and Darlene Yaggie Football Scholarship – Brad Ambrosius, football, De Pere, Wis., education
The 41st annual Harvest Bowl festivities begin Friday, Nov. 21, at the Fargo Ramada Plaza Suites with a dinner and awards ceremony. On Saturday, honorees will attend the Harvest Bowl football game between NDSU and Youngstown State.
