Water has a reddish hue when first drawn then clears (precipitates) upon standing for 24 hours.

Indicates a significant amount of particulate iron in the water. This may be due to galvanized iron pipe in the building, a rusted pressure tank, well casing or pump.

Treatment: Repair/removal of offending pipes or equipment or installing a sediment filter to remove particles.

Always have your water tested and base any treatment on those results. Our Water Quality Interpretation Tool will aid you in your decisions.
