County Awards - Year End Applications & Nominations

All year end awards forms and trip/event forms. Check them out!! Applied for and Nominated for are noted and divided below
APPLY FOR - Cloverbud Certificate
SEND IN BY SEPTEMBER 1 - Each Cloverbud will be awarded at the Recognition Banquet, a certificate of completion for their 1st year in 4-H, but for year 2 and 3, they can also get a certificate IF they fill out this short form. The 1st year Cloverbuds are also encouraged to fill this out for their records. It is a great way to start teaching them how to keep records and will be a wonderful resource of information about what you did in your Cloverbud years.
File chemical/x-mdl-rdfile APPLY FOR - Herd Builder Award
SEND IN BY AUGUST 1 - The Lien Family Farms, Dustin & Lucinda Lien & Family sponsor a coat for this award winner. They are looking for someone, age 14 and up, who not only show their animals, but is working on building a herd of their own, whether it be beef, dairy, sheep, swine, and new for 2017 - goat! Fill out this application and return to the office by August 1 - it will be sent on to the Lien Family for the final decision.

QUARTERLY DEADLINES LISTED BELOW - The Howell Fund is used for trips to out of state events and is a reimbursement for a trip taken. It is recommended that the recipient be present at the council meeting that the application will be looked at. Deadline to apply is September 1, December 1, March 1 and June 1. The leader's council has meetings the 2nd Tuesday of each of those months and will decide on the award then.
APPLY FOR - Super Leadership Awards
SEND IN BY SEPTEMBER 1 - This award is considered the 'high point' of 4-Hers in that age group. The one who has totally exemplified what 4-H is all about, the one whose skills, leadership, personality, and compassion have shown that this person is truly a great 4-her. It doesn't mean you have won the most or that you even exhibited anything anywhere. Community service, helping others and sharing experiences are just as important to being a great 4-Her. Apply for these age based awards - see rules on the back of the application.
File chemical/x-mdl-rdfile APPLY FOR - Year End Project Record Medal Award
SEND IN BY SEPTEMBER 1 - Application for county medals for project areas. This award is given to those who apply that have shown that they have improved and learned something the past year. Any 4-Her 8 to 18 may apply.
File chemical/x-mdl-rdfile FAIR CONTEST - Skill-A-Thon
This is an award based on a specific project area with two parts - a quiz and an interview. Contest will be conducted at the county fair and awarded at the annual Recognition Banquet. Follow the rules in the attached file. NEW NAME this year, and there will be a minimum number of entries required for the specie contest to be held.

SEND IN BY SEPTEMBER 1 - This award goes to the nominated club secretary whose book shows the most effective and proper job in the role as secretary for the club. A leader will nominate this officer and turn in the finished secretary's book by September 15th. Nomination form and rules in attached file.

SEND IN BY SEPTEMBER 1 - This award goes to the nominated club treasurer whose book shows the most effective and proper job in the role as treasurer for the club. A leader will nominate this officer and turn in the finished secretary's book by September 15th. Nomination form and rules in attached file.
File PDF document NOMINATED AWARD - I Dare You
SEND IN BY SEPTEMBER 1 - The I Dare You award is based on the book "I Dare You" by William H. Danforth - the founder of the Ralston Purina Company and a benefactor to youth his whole life. He was 'dared' by his teacher to become better - and he used this motivational dare to shape his life. His challenge to the youth is: "Aspire nobly, adventure daringly, serve humbly". This award is to b presented to someone who has achieved their highest potential and have influenced others through lives of leadership & service. Nomination forms for a high school junior or senior aged 15-18, are to be submitted by a leader, with their leadership and service information detailed. The Leaders Council will make the decision from these nominations at their fall meeting. Nominations should be in the office prior to that meeting
File chemical/x-mdl-rdfile NOMINATED AWARD - Joseph Gengler Award
SEND IN BY AUGUST 1 - This award is given in memory of Joseph Gengler by his family. It honors an outstanding member who has demonstrated great leadership and sportsmanship throughout the year - in 4-H and out. One who has shown others the hard work and determination of being truly involved in 4-H. Nominations can be made by anyone but must be submitted to the office by August 1st. Robert Gengler, son of Joseph, will make the final determination who will receive this honor.
File PDF document NOMINATED AWARD - Key Club Award
SEND IN BY SEPTEMBER 1 - The Key Club is for those 4-Hers who are at least 14 years old as of Sept 1 of the current year and have been a 4-H member at least one year. Leadership responsibilities, project accomplishments, personal development, sharing of 4-H knowledge and citizenship participation will be the criteria for selecting the recipients. Up to 4 Key Club awards may be given in a year. Leaders need to make the nominations of their outstanding 4-Her and get them in to the Extension office. The Leaders Council will select the recipients from the nominations that are returned.
