Consumer Decision Making

This is a learning event that teaches consumerism and confidence. Beginners ages 8-9, Juniors ages 10 as of Sept 1 to age 13 as of Dec 31 - 8 & 9 year olds may enter the junior division if they have experience in the contest, and Seniors ages 14 as of Jan 1 to age 18.

What is Consumer Decision Making??  It is a hands on visual contest that asks you practical questions that you answer and then decide what is the best for the situation given.  ANYONE can do it!!

Every day you make decisions.  It might be what you are going to eat, what you are going to wear, or what to buy. Consumer Decision Making teaches you how to make decisions based on information that you have learned and studied and on facts that you have collected. It can also help you learn to defend your decisions.

The 4-H Consumer Decision Making Contest can help you practice making decisions by matching your knowledge, skills and abilities against those of others. You will learn to rank articles or products over others based on standards and quality.  This common sense experience will help you with everyday life, plus it is fun!!!

Come try it out!
