Why Bother with Breakfast?

Word association games can be kind of fun. Let's try one. When you hear someone say, "scrambled," what word comes to mind? Since the title of this column mentioned "breakfast," perhaps you thought of "eggs." See below for scrambled words!

The benefits of breakfast are well documented for people of all ages. What breakfast does for school-aged children, it can do for all of us! Breakfast influences how successfully children will perform at school, and it influences how well the rest of us function at life, work, and jobs.

To discover the benefits of breakfast, unscramble the letters in these "scrambled words." Ready? Here we go!

Be more "T-R-E-V-I-A-C-E."

Work "S-T-R-A-F-E."

Get better "D-R-E-S-A-G."

Make fewer "S-K-I-M-T-A-S-E."

Be less likely to be "T-H-R-E-E-V-O-W-I-G."

Did you have breakfast today? How did you do on those scrambled words? The benefits of breakfast are that it helps us be more CREATIVE, work FASTER, get better GRADES, make fewer MISTAKES, and be less likely to be OVERWEIGHT.

To learn more about this topic and get a recipe for "Breakfast Anytime Burritos" and some practical strategies for accomplishing breakfast on busy mornings, read the September issue of "Foodwise."
