NDSU Extension Teams Learn to Create Online Videos

It shouldn't take a sensation like "Gangnam Style" (more than 300 million views) to remind us that online video is powerful. In 2011, YouTube had more than 1 trillion views or around 140 views for every person on Earth. OK, your educational video is probably not going to have more views than Indonesia has people, but it can help you deliver your message.

In the past few months, my Ag Comm colleagues and I have had chance to help NDSU Extension staff learn more about producing videos and sharing them online. We have lead 2 hands-on training sessions where participants have had the chance not only to learn about making a video, but to actually create one.

At our Communication Camp in June and at this week's Southwest District Meeting, participating teams were able to create, post and share their own video in less than 24 hours. The teams spent one afternoon and the following morning working on their videos and the results were impressive.

Check out some of the examples below and consider producing your own video to reach your audience. See more at http://www.youtube.com/NDSUExt4H and http://www.youtube.com/NDSUExtension.
