Where are they now? Chet Hill, Class IV

While in RLND I was an Area Extension Specialist in Ag Diversification at the Williston Research Extension Center. After 22+ years working for the Extension Service (14 yrs with NDSU and 8 years as a County Agent in Montana) I decided to try something new. In March of 2015, I became an agronomist for Hefty Seed in Sidney MT. I wanted to try the private sector and become more engaged with the farmers' decision making process in crop production.

From my experience with RLND, I have become more patient with people, listen more, and evaluate work situations differently. I utilize the tools that RLND provided me to assist the producer in providing a number of options and allow the producer to select the best management practice based on their decision.

For those in the RLND program and those thinking about it - take the different workshops seriously and utilize many of the topics to improve yourself as well as the workplace. I feel I use bits and pieces of many of the programs being with my kids, family, friends and at work.

Since completing the program, I see myself differently and am able to critique myself and openly admit things I want to improve. I have had many changes in my life in the past five years and have "completed" a chapter in my life and am now excited to see where this chapter will take me.
