Tackling National Trends in Agriculture and Rural Issues

In just over a week, Class VII participants will be embarking on a great journey to our nation’s capitol to discover more about national trends in agriculture and rural issues. For some, this may be their first airplane flight and for others a return trip to learn more. No matter their past experience, the Washington, D.C. Seminar is sure to expand knowledge on national organizations, governmental operations, and much more.

The RLND Washington D.C. Seminar brings together government representatives - from congressional staff to federal agency employees - for an in-depth and significant learning opportunity. Our goal is to educate D.C.-based decision makers about current issues and complex challenges facing North Dakota’s farmers, ranchers and communities, and educate our participants about the processes, challenges and impacts at the federal level.

Class VII participants will leave North Dakota behind for a five-day trip and take part in issues-based activities and hands-on experiences. One-on-one talks, small group discussions, site visits and much more will enhance their learning of priority topics. Past classes have found benefit in discussions and topics including water, crop protection, trade, environment, food safety, transportation and more. Stay tuned to our social media channels to follow our Class VII participants throughout their trip.
