Re-certification or Initial Certification

The Private applicator certification is required by law to buy or apply restricted use pesticides, re-certification is required every three years.

To be re-certified, private applicators need to attend a re-certification training or complete a 60-question open book exam at the Richland County Extension Office. New applicators will need to attend the training and take a 30-question open book exam for certification. Applicators who have allowed their license to lapse will also need to attend the training and take the exam.

The re-certification fee is $30. Checks and cash will be accepted at the door, checks payable to NDSU Extension Pesticide Program.

If you would like to prepay with a credit card, use the website below. Again, we cannot accept credit cards at the door, only cash or check.

If you have questions as to your certification status contact the Richland County Extension Office.
