Current rules state that private applicators need to be re-certified every three years.

To be re-certified, private applicators need to attend a re-certification meeting. You can also re-certify by completing a 60 question open book exam at the Richland County Extension Office.

New applicators will still need to take a 30 question open book exam. Applicators who have allowed their license to lapse will also need to take the exam. Certification and a private applicators license is required by law to buy or apply restricted use pesticides.

If you have questions as to your certification status contact the Richland County Extension Office. There is a fee of $30 for certification. Checks can be made out to NDSU Extension Pesticide Program.

There will be no testing following this evening training.
