2018 Ransom County Events

There are many Extension Related events and 4-H events scheduled.  Visit the Extension Events page and 4-H page frequently for up-to-date information on events.

 

Field to Fork

Wednesday Webinars will be held each Wednesday starting February 14 through April 25.  Webinars will be made available from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. each Wednesday in the Community Room of the Ransom County Courthouse.  Presenters are NDSU personnel and special guests. Topics include where to buy seeds, pesticide safety, health benefits of gardening, etc  See For more information on these sessions . . .

Private Applicators Pesticide Training

Dates have been set to renew Private Applicator Pesticide Certification.  If your certification expires April 1, 2018, you will need to attend one of the scheduled trainings to maintain your certification.  Training dates . . .

Farm and Ranch Women  are Decision Makers

Six educational sessions will include topics identified to be of local interest and need.  Each session will address one or more farm and ranch business risk areas:

Financial Risk – women and money, basic financial documentation, interpreting financial statements, enterprise analysis, USDA programs, and record keeping systems

Human Resource Risk – communication styles, insurance needs, and succession planning

Legal Risk – estate planning and farmland leasing

Market Risk – access to market information and grain or livestock marketing

Production Risk – Government programs and services (NRCS, FSA, etc.), web soil survey, and crop insurance

Ransom County Extension is hosting this six-week series on March 15, 22 and April 5,12, 19, 26 at the Ransom County Courthouse.

The Ransom County Crop & Livestock Association supports  the North Dakota Agricultural Weather Network (NDAWN) System located at the Lisbon Airport.  NDAWN Website is updated every 10 minutes.
