2019 Ransom County Events

There are many Extension Related events and 4-H events scheduled.  Visit the Extension Events page and 4-H page frequently for up-to-date information on events.


Rescheduled for Friday, April 12
4-H Carnival

The 4-H Carnival has been rescheduled for Friday, April 12 from 6:30 p.m. - 9 p.m. in the Ransom County Expo Center. 

There are a variety of games to play for all ages!  The food booth will be open from 5:30 - 9 p.m.

Purchase game tickets at 3 tickets for $1.00.  Each game takes one ticket. 

There will be door prizes throughout the night, balloons and a cake walk!

See you on April 12!


Spring Fever Garden Forums

Free Spring Fever Garden Forums begin Monday, March 25 at 6:30 -8:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the Ransom County Courthouse.  Dates for the other forums are April 1, 8 and 15 at the same time in the Community Room.

Topics are:
March 25: Is there a better way to grow tomatoes?; Hydroponics at Home; Top vegetable varieties for ND

April 1: Raspberry Cultivars for ND; Pruning Shrubs for Fruits and Beauty; Consumer Guide to Soil Test Kits

April 8: Tree maintenance - Spring and Summer; Ash Replacement Trees; Hip and Happening Hydrangeas

April 15: Proper Mowing; Bring the Outdoors In: Fresh-Cut Flowers; Beyond the Honey Bee

Samples are provided to all who attend the classes in the Community Room.

2019 Field to Fork Webinars begin in February

Beginning Wednesday, February 6 there will be weekly webinars on horticulture topics.  All webinars will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.   You must pre-register to get the link to each week's webinar.  Archived webinars are available to watch by going to www.ag.ndsu.edu/fieldtofork.   Preregister at www.ag.ndsu.edu/fieldtofork.   Click here for a list of weekly topics.
