2021 Ransom County Events

There are many Extension Related events and 4-H events scheduled.  Visit the Extension Events page and 4-H page frequently for up-to-date information on events.


4-H Showmanship Workshop

Saturday, June 12 at the Ransom County Fairgrounds from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.  YQCA Certification will be held from 3:30 - 6:30 p.m.  Species that will be covered are beef, dairy, sheep, swine, meat goat and dairy goat.  Youth are encouraged to bring their own animals for a hands-on learning experience.  You can choose to bring and learn about 3 different species. 

Topics that will be covered are:
Preparing animals for show at home
Nutrition basics
Veterinary care
What to do at the fair
Showmanship tips and techniques
Basic Fitting

The fee for the workshop is $20 per youth which includes snack, lunch and YQCA certification.
