Howdy!!!

The bad weather has been staying out west and that ain’t all bad.  We are not the only ones suffering from high water problems.  Look around the United States and North Dakota.  Rivers and Lakes are all swelling from too much moisture.  I was gone for two days last week to Detroit Lakes fishing and the water situation is the same all over, too much.  We need to find a norm.

BBQ Boot Camp comes to Devils Lake!!!

BBQ boot camp is a collaborative effort of animal scientist in NDSU’s Animal Science Department and food safety and nutrition specialists and agents from the NDSU Extension Service. The event will be held July 13 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Ramsey County Fairground building, located west of Devils Lake on Hwy 19. Topics include: New cooking methods and practices, Meat cut selection, Rubs, marinates, and seasonings, Food safety and nutrition, Smoking, gas, and charcoal cooking.  Meat industry topics including related research, teaching, and Extension activities at NDSU.

Bring your appetite because you’ll be able to sample some tasty barbecued meat. Fees are $30 per person or $50 per couple. This includes a binder with information and recipes, a meat thermometer, and a full meal with lots of BBQ! Registration can be done online at www.ndsu.edu/bbqbootcamp or call the Ramsey County Extension office at 701-662-7027.
