Howdy!!!

The past three four days have sure been a pleasant addition to the winter season.  Makes us think we are headed towards spring.  I know we are not fooled by it but sure gives us hope.  All this hope has me wondering how the spring will unfold with the lake levels and the ability to get around any of these country roads.  How many acres are going to lose this spring to either water or unavailability is a question that only spring can tell us.  The fear of the unknowns has us all wondering.  One thing I do know for sure is that we are going to be wet and hopefully the worst nightmare does not happen.  The killer this spring will be an inch or two of rain on top of the snow before the ground is thawed.  This push water into places we don’t want, at a very fast pace.  There is new software out that can determine new flooded acres using projected water runoff and this projection would estimate about 21000 additional acres of actual lake water.  This projection does not take into count for any issues away from the lake, due to water table changes.  We have so many issues facing us this spring that I am not sure just where to start but would like for you to give me a call if you have an area or areas of concern we could help address.  We will work with some mental health issues but anything you would like us to help with please let us know.  There will be many new challenges this spring to include just when will we get started in the field???????????  How can we forward price commodities and livestock, especially at these prices, when we are not sure what, where or when the spring season will begin.  Luckily there are some act of God contracts available that does take some of the pressure off.
