Plant Sciences Extension Information
NDSU Weed Science Website

The NDSU Weed Science group consists of over 10 scientists and specialists state wide. The NDSU Extension Weed Science project team is comprised of Dr. Zollinger and two research specialists. Dr. Zollinger continuously serves as major advisor to one or two graduate students. As the NDSU Extension Specialist, his state-wide educational efforts cover most crops except sugarbeet and potato. Every year the Weed Science project prints over 20,000 copies of the North Dakota Weed Control Guide (W-253), the flagship publication of the NDSU Extension Service. Dr. Zollinger conducts weed control and herbicide research primarily in corn, soybean, dry edible beans, and sunflower. His main research interest is in adjuvants and formulations. The Weed Science project conducts over 70 field trials each year in these areas. In addition, the project also has a dynamic greenhouse testing program which allows them to adapt to many different testing objectives.
