Assistant Professor
Hard Spring Wheat Breeding

Program Focus: Applied plant breeding aimed at developing well-adapted and competitive spring wheat varieties for North Dakota.

Research Priorities: Our research priorities are to find efficient ways to rapidly develop and test experimental lines for testing at multiple sites in North Dakota. Our primary breeding objectives are grain yield, agronomic suitability, end-use quality, biotic stress resistance and abiotic stress tolerance. Our program develops and tests hard red spring and hard white spring wheat varieties using conventional breeding techniques.
