Yilmaz Represents NDSU Plant Sciences at Legislative Showcase

Department of Plant Sciences M.S. student Kutay Yilmaz was one of four graduate students who represented North Dakota State University during the North Dakota University System Legislative Showcase held at the State Capitol Building in Bismarck on March 27, 2019.

Department of Plant Sciences M.S. student Kutay Yilmaz was one of four graduate students who represented North Dakota State University during the North Dakota University System (NDUS) Legislative Showcase held at the State Capitol Building in Bismarck on March 27, 2019.

The showcase is hosted by the NDUS Board of Higher Education biennially during legislative sessions to give legislators an opportunity to see how the University System contributes to North Dakota’s people, culture and economy. All eleven NDUS campuses participated.

Yilmaz was chosen to represent NDSU with his tabletop display, which won the People’s Choice Award at the NDSU Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition and Graduate Student Showcase February 21, 2019. The title of his display is Grain Sorghum Can Be a Viable Alternative Crop for North Dakota.

Yilmaz is advised by Dr. Burton Johnson.
