Two Plant Sciences Faculty Promoted

Faculty members Xiwen Cai and Alan Zuk were promoted within the Department of Plant Sciences.

Two faculty in the Department of Plant Sciences earned promotions in 2014. Dr. Xiwen Cai was promoted to professor, and Dr. Alan Zuk was awarded tenure and promoted to associate professor.

Cai earned his Ph.D. in Crop Science at Washington State University and was hired by NDSU Plant Sciences in 2002 as assistant professor in wheat genetics and cytology. He was promoted to associate professor in 2008.

Zuk earned his Ph.D. in Horticulture Science at Kansas State University and joined NDSU Plant Sciences in 2008 as assistant professor in sports and urban turfgrass management.

Promotion acknowledges faculty members for professional competence and excellent service to NDSU. Tenure is affirmation of a faculty member’s excellence and potential significant long-term contribution to NDSU and the state. (http://www.ndsu.edu/news/view/detail/13299/)
