Plant Sciences Members Honored for Years of Service

Four members of the Department of Plant Sciences were honored for years of service milestones and two more were inducted into the Quarter Century Club.

NDSU staff members who have retired, achieved years of service milestones, and received awards for outstanding service were recognized during the Staff Recognition Dessert Social held in their honor on April 17. Four Department of Plant Sciences staff were among the honorees. Collin Auwarter, research specialist in high value crop production, was recognized for 10 years of service. Rian Lee, research specialist in dry bean genetics, and Dick Nilles, research specialist in potato breeding, were both recognized for 15 years of service. Louise Heinz, administrative secretary in the Plant Sciences office, was recognized for 30 years of service.

Faculty and staff who have been employed at NDSU for 25 years were honored during the annual Quarter Century Club Banquet on May 2.  Dr. Richard Horsley, Plant Sciences department head, professor and barley breeder, and Dr. Paul Schwarz, professor in malting barley quality, were honored at the Quarter Century Club celebration.
