Plant Sciences Alumnus Receives Distinguished Alumni Award

Plant Sciences alumnus Dr. Perry Cregan received the 2014 Distinguished Alumni Award for the College of Agriculture, Food Systems and Natural Resources at North Dakota State University.

Dr. Perry Cregan received the 2014 Distinguished Alumni Award for the College of Agriculture, Food Systems and Natural Resources at North Dakota State University. Cregan received his M.S. and Ph.D. in agronomy in 1975 and 1977, respectively, and recently retired as the USDA-ARS Research Leader of the Soybean Genomics and Improvement Laboratory in Beltsville, MD. 

While on campus November 18, Cregan presented a lecture to the Plant Sciences 431/631 Intermediate Genetics Class titled Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) Detection. He also presented a departmental seminar titled DNA Marker Development and Application in Soybean and Common Bean.
