Jose Vasquez-Guzman Ph.D. Dissertation Video

Jose Vasquez presented his Plant Sciences Ph.D. dissertation on Friday, May 6, 2016 in Loftsgard Hall at North Dakota State University. His dissertation title is Identifying Dry Bean Genotypes and Genomic Regions Associated with Root Rot Resistance with Emphasis on Fusarium solani f. sp. phaseoli. His research focused on phenotyping and genotyping a set of 246 dry bean genotypes from the Andean region of South America.

NDSU’s great reputation in agricultural programs led Vasquez to apply to Plant Sciences, and he would recommend the department to any student considering an advanced degree in the field.

Vasquez plans to return to Equador, where he will resume his professorship.

Jose Vasquez’s graduate committee members were Dr. Elias Elias, Dr. Phillip McClean, Dr. Kevin McPhee, and Dr. Luis del Rio. He was advised by Dr. Juan Osorno.
