Department of Plant Sciences M.S. student Calli Feland was awarded first place for her poster presentation in the Marvin Stone Memorial Poster Competition at the Nitrogen Use Efficiency annual conference held August 8-10 at the University of Idaho in Boise.

Feland co-authored the poster, Impact of Nitrogen Type, Timing, and Additives on Grain Yield and Protein in Hard Red Spring Wheat, with her adviser, professor and Extension agronomist Dr. Joel Ransom.

The Nitrogen Use Efficiency conference “brings together agronomists, biogeochemists, farmers, economists, sociologists, extension agents, educators, and policy experts from both public and private sectors to identify the major impediments to improved nutrient management and to make recommendations for overcoming those impediments.” https://www.soils.org/meetings/specialized-conferences/nitrogen-use-efficiency
