Enise Ayyildiz successfully defended her plant sciences M.S. thesis on April 29, 2021. The title of her thesis is Nitrogen Uptake Effects on Potato Yield and Quality. Her advisor is Dr. Andrew Robinson. She presented her exit seminar on May 10.

Ayyilidiz compared the effect of traditional nitrogen sources and application methods to turkey manure compost by measuring the tuber yield and quality of Russet Burbank potato in Minnesota. The results of her research show that turkey manure is a good nitrogen source for local sustainable fertilizer and not different compared to inorganic nitrogen sources.

Prior to her studies at North Dakota State University, Ayyildiz graduated from Suleyman Demirel University in Isparta, Turkey with a degree in Agriculture Engineering-Field Crops. Her hometown is Ankara, Turkey and she plans to return to work as a potato specialist and researcher in the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.

Her graduate committee included Robinson, Dr. Susie Thompson and Dr. Gary Secor.
