Crop Improvement Scholarships Awarded to Plant Sciences Students

Three North Dakota Crop Improvement and Seed Association scholarships were awarded to Department of Plant Sciences students Elizabeth Blessum, Vincent Carruth and Kaden Martinson. All are Crop and Weed Sciences majors.

Three North Dakota Crop Improvement and Seed Association (NDCISA) scholarships were awarded to Department of Plant Sciences students Elizabeth Blessum, Vincent Carruth and Kaden Martinson. All are Crop and Weed Sciences majors. Carruth received an incoming freshmen scholarship and Blessum and Martinson received undergraduate scholarships.

Blessum is a senior and has accepted a position in the BASF Professional Development Program, which she will start after graduation. Her advisor is Dr. Kirk Howatt. Martinson is also a senior and is working as an agronomist at Leading Edge Equipment in Devils Lake, ND. His advisor is Dr. Juan Osorno.

Carruth received one of the incoming freshmen scholarships, and is featured for also receiving a North Dakota Corn Growers Association scholarship at https://www.ag.ndsu.edu/plantsciences/news/corn-growers-scholarships-awarded-to-plant-sciences-students

The NDCISA sponsors a total of six scholarships for North Dakota students.  Three are awarded to incoming freshmen and three are for other undergraduates. Eligible students must be considered full-time in their studies and be an individual or family member of their county Crop Improvement and Seed Association.
