During her regular Thursday morning routine of teaching Principles of Forage Production to Plant Sciences undergraduate students, Dr. Marisol Berti was surprised to see Dr. Jane Schuh and Dr. Richard Horsley walk into her classroom, interrupt her lecture and give her the Research and Creative Activity (RCA) Researcher of the Month award. Schuh is the RCA Vice President of Research and Horsley is the Head of the Department of Plant Sciences.

Berti is the third NDSU researcher to receive the award and said that she was surprised and honored to be recognized for her research and teaching activities. She received the award on November 15.

According to the RCA office, the Researcher of the Month award was created to recognize NDSU researchers who deliberately seek excellence in research, are strong leaders and highly effective teachers who strengthen the productivity and research reputation of the entire university.
