Benjamin Cigelske presented a seminar on his M.S. thesis, Soybean Response to Nitrogen and Sulfur Fertilization, on December 22, 2016. Cigelske’s research was designed to determine and understand the relationship between nitrogen and sulfur and the impact of the two nutrients on North Dakota soybean yield and quality.

Originally from Hatton, North Dakota, Cigelske also received a B.S. degree from NDSU. He said that he wanted to attend NDSU because of its excellent agricultural tradition. During his graduate career, he was awarded the ND Soybean Council’s Graduate Scholarship and was a member of the NDSU Rodeo Team.

Cigelske’s adviser was Dr. Hans Kandel. His graduate committee included Dr. Joel Ransom, Dr. Ted Helms, and Dr.Tom DeSutter.
