Cereal Science Faculty and Students Attend American Association of Cereal Chemists International Meeting

NDSU Cereal Science faculty, graduate and undergraduate students participated in research presentations including posters and oral talks, and received various awards.

During the annual American Association of Cereal Chemists International meeting, NDSU Cereal Science faculty, graduate and undergraduate students participated in research presentations including posters and oral talks, and received various awards. 

Those attending were Tsogtbayar Baasandor, Claudia Carter, Elena Del Pena, Lingzhu Deng, Natsuki Fujiwara, Clifford Hall, Richard Horsley, Yu Liu, Frank Manthey, Mihiri Mendis, Senay Simsek and Kristin Whitney. 

Simsek received the 2013 AACCI Young Scientist Award and gave an award talk titled “Metabolic Profiling in Cereals: Analysis of Secondary Metabolites in Wheat using LC-QTOF/MS.”  De La Pena was a finalist for the Best Student Research Competition and Mendis received the Raymond J. Tarleton Graduate Fellowship award.
